There was a time when women were only supposed to have sex for the purposes of procreation. Those days are long over. The notion that women only wanted to have sex for one reason is wrong. Most women enjoy sex just as much as their counterparts, but have had to hide it. Casual hookups are not only physically pleasing women everywhere, they are changing the double standard of sex for women around the world. Hooking up is letting women off the hook and allowing them to explore their own sexuality.
 
 

What is a hookup?
A hookup is a casual sex encounter that two people engage in with the same purpose. Each partner knows that it is nothing more than sex. The physical act of sex is the only intention of the hookup. There are no other expectations. Friends with benefits, there are no strings attached. It is possible that the two individuals know each other. It is also completely likely that the two know nothing about one another. The only thing that is certain is that it is two consenting adults making a conscious choice to enjoy having sex with one another without guilt, remorse, or expectation.

Why are hookups empowering women?
The times when, if a woman had sex she was a slut, while if a man did he was a stud, are over. Thanks to the new hookup atmosphere, it is now okay for a woman to engage in sex just for the pure pleasure of it. Not being judged, a woman can look for a partner for nothing more than just the physical sex act. Women are in the position now to choose their own partners. They aren’t beholden to find serious relationships, or to feel badly when a guy doesn’t call. If she has sex, she isn’t doing it to have a serious relationship. She is doing it for the same reason that guys do it. Pure pleasure is her whole intention and nothing more.

Throughout the centuries men have normally been in the position of power. When a woman wanted to have sex, she had to let the man lead. That was true not only for established relationships, but for any that she wanted to engage in. Often she would hold off on the pleasure of sex to avoid being labeled as a “slut”, or other derogatory names. That left women in the position where the only time they were able to receive pleasure from sex is when they were in a committed relationship. Otherwise they would risk being embarrassed by a guy not calling when they said they would.
 

 
Causal sex becoming mainstream means that a woman can get the gratification that she seeks without reprisal from the people around her. It is no longer her job to keep a man happy to keep him, she is now in the position where her own pleasure is just as important. Sex is no longer for procreation purposes only. That has left men in a position where they are required to find ways to please the women in their life, or risk losing them. Empowering women in committed relationships and outside of them, casual sex has done more for women’s rights than the sexual revolution.

Should you engage in casual sex?
There are a lot of women who still think that if they have sex without the commitment of a relationship it will be viewed as immoral. The truth is that it never was immoral, it isn’t immoral, and it won’t be. Nature made women with the same desires as men. They were given the ability to receive pleasure because that is what they are supposed to do. Stop putting your own needs aside. If you give casual sex a try and decide that it is not for you, it should be something that you decide for yourself. It should not be something that someone decides for you. Take advantage of the new liberation that casual sex is giving to women, and find out if it is right for you. If you choose to be in a committed relationship to have sex, make sure that your needs are being met. You are deserving of the same pleasure that you are giving. Don’t ever underestimate your own worth.
